“Chromascapes” – Abstract Landscapes by Beki Borman opens February 17

We are excited to present Chromascapes, a collection of abstract landscapes by Milwaukee artist Beki Borman. This exhibition will open Friday, February 17 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.  Come meet the artist, enjoy a reception, and of course check out these amazing works!

Chromascapes takes a contemporary twist to the traditional landscape portrait, with influences from impressionism and modernism. Borman’s technique is to use a putty knife solely (no brush!), thus exaggerating simple shapes and color relationships. The artist considers both landscape and color to be subjects in her paintings, so there is a balance between representational and abstract style. This approach invites the viewer to appreciate the beauty and interpret their own meaning of the work.

A native Milwaukeean, Borman earned her BFA in painting at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design in 2004. Since then she has exhibited locally and nationally.

Watkins Exhibit Continues Through Feb 4th

“LINE and FORM” opened with a lively crowd December 2nd at River Edge Gallery. Dave joined us for the evening and fielded many questions about his motivations and techniques. Drop in the Gallery and see what everyone was talking about! Dave’s work is on display through February 4th 2012
