“Enigma Variations”: Images by Sara Risley

River Edge Gallery is delighted to present Milwaukee photographer/artist Sara Risley’s latest exhibition, Enigma Variations. The show opening is slated for Friday, September 13, 5-8 PM at River Edge Gallery in Thiensville. The artist will be on hand to discuss her bright, prismatic work with guests.

Her digital photo works are abstractions of ordinary objects and places. “The viewer always wonders what it is, what the source was, how I did it,”  Sara explains. “I do not, however, always reveal what exactly was the subject of the image. I want the viewer to try and find the answer to that riddle.”

Sara currently works out of her home/studio in Wauwatosa, WI and has pursued photography throughout her career. She studied photography and graduated cum laude with a BFA in Film Arts from Southern Methodist University in Dallas in 1977. She has since exhibited throughout Wisconsin and the U.S. in numerous exhibitions and juried shows. Her inspirations include Andrew Wyeth and Dale Chihuly.

The show will run through Saturday, October 26. River Edge Gallery is open Thursdays and Fridays 12-5 and Saturdays 12-4 and is located at 124 S. Main St., Thiensville, WI.

“Saturation” – New Paintings by Pamela Anderson

Please welcome Milwaukee artist Pamela Anderson to River Edge Gallery June 14th through August 3rd for a solo exhibition of her most recent paintings. Pamela likes to say she came into this world with crayons in her hands. Her bold and colorful strokes are created from the conscious and unconscious. Her works, typically large scale and untitled, are created with acrylics or oils on canvas or paper.

“My recent body of work is filled with bright, undiluted color. Bold and colorful strokes are created from the conscious and the unconscious communicating with each other. Drawing from my dreams, imagination and intuitions I create shapes, textures and hues that transfer my unfettered emotion onto the canvas and paper. Playful forms and shades challenge and engage your imagination. I feel that abstract art converses and allows us to connect and share experience where we draw on the universal energies and symbols that are common to us all.” – PAMELA ANDERSON

The show will open with a reception 5-8 PM on Friday June 14th where Pamela would be happy to share her inspirations and techniques with you. Please join us!
